UFC on Fox: Evans vs. Davis (also known as UFC on Fox 2) was held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on January 29, 2012 (Aus time) at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Mark Munoz was expected to face Chael Sonnen in a #1 contender’s bout for a middleweight title shot, but was forced out of the bout with an injury, and was replaced by Michael Bisping, who was pulled from a scheduled fight with Demian Maia. Maia’s new opponent was Chris Weidman.

Two #1 contender spots were decided as part of the event. As Chael Sonnen beat Bisping he will now get a rematch with Anderson Silva for the UFC Middleweight title. This is expected to take place within the next 6 months in Rio.
Rashad Evans’ win over Davis also earned him a UFC Light Heavyweight title shot against Jon Jones. This fight will occur at UFC 145 in April 2012.
