Are all you Auusie fans of the UFC and The Ultimate Fighter ready for your action to be turned up a notch?
According to reports, The UFC is looking to put together a special new version of The Ultimate Fighter that would feature fighters from Australia and England.
The show has picked up a lot of overseas interest recently and the vegas-based UFC is looking to capitalise upon it.
UFC Managing Director of International Development, Marshall Zelanik, said the idea already has Australian companies looking to put cash behind the idea.
“Right now we have three Australian broadcasters interested and a number of blue chips sponsors willing to write cheques,” Zelanik said.
The Ultimate Fighter would still be filmed in Las Vegas and would still use the same concept from past seasons of the regular TUF series.
In regards to coaches, middleweights Michael Bisping and Kyle Noke have been suggested as possibilities, as well as lightweights Ross Pearson and fan favourite George Sotiropolous.
If everything falls into place, the UFC could premiere the show as soon as 2012.
“I’d like to think that before the end of the year we could be into pre-production. The pieces are certainly coming together,” Zelanik also confirmed.
