Jim Miller has the most UFC fights, with 47 completed appearances as of October 6, 2026. Andrei Arlovski is second with 42, leaving Miller five fights clear at the top of the official UFC record book.
Miller’s latest completed appearance was at UFC 328 on May 9, 2026, when he submitted Jared Gordon with a guillotine choke at 3:29 of the first round. The UFC’s event recap confirmed that the result took him to 28 wins in 47 UFC starts—and that he led both categories.

Miller’s entire UFC career falls inside that coverage window. He debuted at UFC 89 on October 18, 2008, submitting David Baron in the third round. His official athlete history also records appearances at UFC 100, UFC 200 and UFC 300—a useful illustration of the span behind his total.
What counts as a UFC fight?
An appearance measures participation, not success. Wins, losses, draws and no contests count as completed bouts; a cancellation or a scheduled matchup does not.
Miller provides a concrete example. Counting the completed results in his UFCStats bout history gives:
28 wins + 18 losses + 1 no contest = 47 UFC fights.
The no contest was his UFC 159 bout against Pat Healy in April 2013. Miller’s official UFC history records that the original submission loss was changed to a no contest. The outcome changed, but the appearance remained part of his total.
That also explains why adding only wins and losses produces the wrong answer: 28 plus 18 is 46, omitting one completed fight.
UFC appearances are not total MMA fights—or wins
The 39-19 record with one no contest displayed at the top of Miller’s UFCStats profile is his overall professional MMA record. It is not his UFC-only record. Bouts outside the promotion must be excluded when answering who has fought most in the UFC.
Miller happens to lead in both appearances and victories, but those are separate records. For the wins comparison, see most wins in UFC history.
The 47-fight mark is fundamentally a longevity and participation record. It does not, by itself, establish the highest winning percentage, the strongest opposition or the greatest championship career.
